I'm not a Cleveland sports fan. I am a Chicago White Sox, and Atlanta Braves fan. However, whenever I see "Majore League," I miss the Cleveland Indians. Please bring back the Cleveland Indians.

In that era of baseball movies, The Natural is king! "Welcome to the majors Mr. Hobbs!" is right up there with "Just a bit outside..." from Major League. Between the serious dramas like this and Field of Dreams, they both get little credit for deepening the baseball fan base of the 80's and 90's. I don't think "The Rookie, For the Love of the Game, Major League 2, 3 or Angels in the Outfield quite planted the seed that the baseball dramas and comedies of the 80's and 90's did. Added bonus was that Redford and Costner actually looked like real ballplayers! Top 5: The Natural Bull Durham Field of Dreams Major League The Sandlot

It is the first result, cites the rule that applies and even mentions the incident in the "The Natural" The rule cited is: Rule 3.01 Comment: Should a ball come partially apart in a game, it is in play until the play is completed. The article states that the movie basically got it right. It happens in MLB but is never as dramatic as seen in the movie.
